Kellie,

I am forever grateful for you. You helped me achieve the birth experience I was concerned and told were not possible or realistic. Birthing our sweet babies at home, in my own time and way is such a special gift. I am a stronger...

Welcome to HomeBirth Experience

HomeBirth Experience Inc. is where women and their families can find answers. HomeBirth Experience brings the safe natural experience of home birth back to the family where it belongs.

Kellie Moeller, Certified Nurse Midwife and President of HomeBirth Experience, Inc. welcomes you and invites you to enjoy the HomeBirth Experience website, it was created with you in mind. We look forward to answering your questions about your pregnancy, your baby's birth and the exciting journey you're taking!

When a birth is at home, it becomes the intimate, private, natural process it's meant to be.

Birth as a medical process in a medical facility creates little privacy or family decision making and takes away many choices families later wish they had the freedom to make.

With HomeBirth Experience, mothers move around, change positions and describe their birth experience as less painful and less stressful. In fact, they say it is the Family Event it should be.

Kellies' birth parents are encouraged to educate themselves about pregnancy and birth so they will make well-informed choices and decisions throughout pregnancy and birth.

We provide Obstetric and Gynecological Healthcare. Whether your birth takes place at your home or a birth center, HomeBirth Experience will be with you every step of the way.

services

Comprehensive Prenatal Care

After your 1 hour consultation, we'll schedule your initial 3 hour visit. This 3 hour visit includes detailed medical and social histories as well as a complete physical including labs as needed. We will discuss diet and exercise. You will bring your diet sheet and the other forms found in the consult packet. Additional prenatal visits will be scheduled for 1 hour. This allows time to complete a diet review, to discuss any pregnancy discomforts you may be experiencing, as well as emotional and psychological adjustments to the pregnancy. At 36 weeks, we will schedule your prenatal visit to be at your home.

Complete Birth Care

When you go into labor, you'll notify Kellie. The 2 of you will decide upon a mutually agreeable time for Kellie to arrive at your home. She will bring birth supplies, oxygen and resuscitation equipment, as well as IV supplies and medications for hemorrhage in the event of emergencies. Kellie will monitor the baby's heart rate intermittently and monitor your well-being. She will provide labor support as needed.(Sometimes you are doing so well that all that is needed from Kellie are a few words of encouragement.)

Postpartum Care

Kellie will call for updates on the well-being of you and your newborn throughout the 1st week after the birth your new baby. She is available to you by phone 24/7 for any concerns or questions.

Between 24-48 hours, she will come back to your home for exams on both you and the baby. We will schedule additional postpartum appointments at 1 week, 3 weeks, and 6 weeks where again both Mom and Baby will be examined. We can discuss plans for family planning during this time.

Nutritional Guidance

The number 1 thing you can do to help insure a healthy pregnancy and birth is to eat a high quality, nutrient dense diet. Kellie will ask you to bring a diet sheet to your initial visit and again periodically throughout the pregnancy. The 2 of you will review the diet and Kellie may make suggestions to "tweak" your meals for the optimal health of your baby and to maintain the health of your pregnancy. Kellie can also make suggestions for exercise throughout your pregnancy.
